Importance of Real Estate Property Videos

Many real estate agents across the globe are harnessing the power of video as part of their marketing platform. Videos provide consumers with the best information possible when they are in the real estate shopping process.

A recent infographic put together by Postling and featured on Mashable, shared an impressive statistic when it comes to how real estate customers view the importance of video. The study showed that 73% of homeowners are more likely to list with a realtor offering to do a video, yet only 12% of the realtor population is capitalizing on this medium.

Here at SM Sold, we work with several top agents such as The Smith Group, Bond Street Partners, and The Boutique, that implement videography to better showcase their property listings. Adopting real estate videos in their marketing and merchandising plans gives them a strategic competitive advantage over other agents. Incorporating property listing videography also defines real estate agents as premier service providers and market leaders, and possibly justifies higher commission rates.

Videos allow buyers to see the workings of the home that photography cannot always offer. Property videos showcased through video provides an opportunity to add snippets of information and emotion that might not be seen or easily conveyed via text or photography.

Here are four reasons every real estate agent should be using video:

  • Video allows the viewer to see, hear, and feel the property: Photos and slideshows only allow the viewer to see the property, but video hits them with sight, sound, and emotion.

  • Video is easier than you think: Real estate videos can be done with photos already on-hand and can be complied into a video format in just a few minutes.

  • Video allows you to tell the viewer what to do: Including a call to action is one of the most important parts of a video, whether that is a request to check out additional property information on the website or to sign up for a tour.

  • You can talk about yourself: Talking about your real estate experience can be a powerful option that allows you to impress your viewer.

It is very important that today’s real estate agents are ahead of the wave, and not trying to catch up with it- the best way to do that is to deliver messaging the way consumer’s want to hear it.
